According to Honda Cars Philippines, Inc., (HCPI), the Japanese carmaker has closed 2017 on a positive note in terms of sales performance. By the numbers, the company managed to sell a total of 31,758 units nationwide last year, a notable 37% increase vs. its 2016 record of 23,199 units.
Additionally, HCPI’s strong 2017 performance was boosted by its December sales feat amounting to 4,961 units. That’s a whopping 77% increase over the same period last year, and the highest monthly sales record the brand has achieved in the country.
Topping the chart is the City. During the entirety of 2017, the subcompact sedan posted a total of 9,430 units sold. Not far behind is the BR-V 7-seat subcompact crossover’s record of 7,212 units. Third on the list is the Civic compact sedan, which was sold 4,146 times last year.
Lastly, the CR-V crossover saw a 2017 sales feat amounting to a total of 2,799 units since its launch. HCPI credits this to the vehicle’s new turbodiesel engine option that gained interest from would-be buyers and its 2017 CAGI Car of the Year Philippines award.
