Last August, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation took the wraps off its Next-Generation Multipurpose Vehicle, the Xpander, at the 25th Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show. With much excitement, MMC officials, particularly those from the Philippine subsidiary revealed that this model would be coming to our market real soon.
Well, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation is finally accepting reservations for its latest cross multipurpose, sport utility vehicle. Thanks to a new interpretation of the Dynamic Shield design that was first seen on models like the Montero Sport, the Xpander brings fresh and bold styling to the 7-seat MPV class.
Apart from the modern exterior vibe, the Xpander boasts of an interior with generous dimensions that is able to accommodate up to 7 passengers and their gear. First-rate materials and modern conveniences ensure that each journey will be a relaxing and pleasant one.
The new Mitsubishi Xpander will be powered by a 1.5-liter DOHC, 16-valve four-cylinder motor with Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing Electronic Control (MIVEC) technology. Buyers can opt for either a manual or automatic gearbox. Plus, the Xpander will come with a host of safety features such as Hill Start Assist, Emergency Stop Signal. Active Stability Control, and Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE) body structure that all complement the usual SRS airbags and ABS-EBD safety kit.
The all-new Mitsubishi Xpander will be available in a host of colors that include Red Metallic, Titanium Grey Metallic, Quartz White Pearl, Sterling Silver Metallic, and Diamond Black Mica. It will come in the following variants:
- GLX MT: P900,000
- GLX Plus AT: P990,000
- GLS AT: P1,050,000
- GLS Sport AT: P1,100,000
