Last November, Mazda revealed a refreshed version of its flagship Mazda6 sedan at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The Hiroshima-based carmaker follows this up with the updated Mazda6 Sport Wagon, which is set to make its world reveal at the 2018 Geneva International Motor Show.
Just like its four-door sibling, the Mazda6 Sport Wagon receives a slightly revised front end, along with new touches in various parts of the exterior. All these updates are meant to give the sporty wagon a more elegant and mature demeanor.
As seen from the press photos, the inside gets the same treatment as the sedan’s cabin. This comes in a form of revised seats and dash, along with more premium materials. Other than that, it still remains the same place that invites one to get behind the tiller and drive.
While Mazda was mum on what lies underneath the swoopy hood, it did say that the Skyactiv mil will get added performance. We’re guessing that this will be the same turbocharged Skyactiv 2.5T powerplant that was put under the hood of the sedan last year. This forced induction number puts out 250hp and 420Nm of torque. It likewise features cylinder de-activation for even better fuel economy.
And Mazda also did say that the new Mazda6 Wagon will come with even more i-ACTIVSENSE safety tech. This will greatly improve safety and heighten driver confidence.
Expect to see the refreshed Mazda6 Sport Wagon at the Geneva International Motor Show in March.
