The Audi TT has always been considered a design icon since it was introduced some 20 or so years ago. Whether they admit it or not, many have purchased the coupe and its roadster sibling more for the looks than anything else. So it comes as no surprise that Audi didn’t really mess with the exterior of the new 2019 TT.
Then again, this has always been the way the German luxury carmaker does things—it sticks to the car’s overall profile. This isn’t such a bad thing, mind you, as it helps give it an identity of its own. That said, the new one seems to have a more refined style, with a new 3D Singleframe grille, rounder panels, and a more sophisticated vibe.
Speaking of sophistication, the new car boasts a long list of standard fetures that help emphasize its being an upscale model. Even for the base TT Standard, one gets goodies like heated mirrors, multifunction steering wheel, Audi Drive Select, and the Virtual Cockpit, just to name a few.
When it comes to power, all TT trim levels will be motivated by a 2.0-liter TFSI motor that comes in different outputs. The 40 TFSI gets a 197hp, 320Nm mill mated to either a 6-speed manul or 7-speed S-Tronic gearbox. The 45 TFSI and 45 TFSI Quattro get a 245hp motor with 370Nm of torque. The front-whel driver gets either the manual or auto gearbox while the all-wheel drive version wil only come with the S-Tronic tranny.
