Hyundai Technicians compete in the very first Skills Olympics for Commercial Vehicles

Best Care, One Step Ahead. Top Hyundai Service teams from the Hyundai Asia Pacific distributorship community competed at the very first World Skill Olympics (Asia and Pacific) for Commercial Vehicle Distributors. Held July 19, 2018 at the Hyundai Logistics Center in Calamba, Laguna, 12 of the best service technicians from the Philippines, Vietnam, and Myanmar vied to represent the Region at the First Technical Truck and Bus World Skills Olympics that will be launched in Korea this October.

Hyundai Asia Resources Inc. (HARI) has constantly been building its After-sales service capabilities thru various competitive events and activities. The latest of these is the first World Skill Olympics for Commercial Vehicles, which was recently held at the Hyundai Logistics Center in Calamba, Laguna.

Patterned after the Olympic Games, the skills competition is the very first of its kind for Hyundai Trucks and Buses. The winner of the Asia Pacific regional tilt will then go on to compete in the First Technical Truck and Bus World Skills Olympics that will take place in Korea this October.

Consisting of two parts—a written exam and a practical skills test--, the event witnessed a group of winners from various countries in the region. Gary Junio and Mark Eric Rellosa of the Philippines took home the First Place trophy. Thiha Saw and Aye Chan Aung of Myanmar bagged Second Place, while Vũ Đình Công and Lê Hồng Ninh of Vietnam garnered Third Place.

All told, the cntest was just one more way Hyundai and its distributors help build better after-sales service across its network. By allowing them to compete and hone their skills and knowledge, the participants are likewise able to improve their skills and thus, pass it on to the consumer in the form of better service—for both Passenger Cars and Commercial Vehicles alike.
