At this year’s National Finals of the Partner for Life, search for the Castrol Super Mechanics, it was the Super Racing Cycle Enterprise team from Cebu that bagged top honors. The event, which took place last November 24, 2018 at the Trinoma Activity Center in Quezon City, pitted some 82 teams from across the country in a test of skill and know-how about two-wheelers.
The team, composed of shop owner Jonard Tan, along with mechanics Diomedes Cogay, Ernesto Gualiza, and Roldan Cogay went up agsnst some of the finest in the land. They showed their stuf in such areas as Basic Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) for Scooters, Bearing and Lubrication Training, motorcycle troubleshooting-guide, and customer service—which were all part of the six-moth training program.
Yet it wasn’t the first time that the Cebu crew joined the prestigious tilt. Back in 2016, they were part of the top 3, garnering runner-up honors. This time around, they are the champions.
“It is our pleasure to name team Cebu as the Champion Mechanics of this year’s Partner for Life Program. It’s the second consecutive year that we’ve had representatives from Cebu to win in our PFL. We commend all participating mechanics for their dedication to their line of work, and developing their skills. These teams are role-models to their peers, embodying the culture of the pursuit of excellence in their craft,” said Maria Tañada, Country Sales Director, Castrol Philippines.
