With the recent havoc brought about by the Corona Virus Disease 2019 or COVID-19, the Philippine government decided to put the country under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ). This meant non-essential businesses establishments, including car dealerships, were mandated to temporarily stop operations. Nissan Philippines followed suit.
Now it has been a couple months since the implementation of the ECQ. And as per government and health sectors’ observation, there has been a significant dip in the general economy, especially in areas less hit by the pandemic. This compelled the givernment to lift the ECQ in some areas in favor of a General Community Quarantine (GCQ). To put is simple, this is a less-restricted form of community quarantine, enabling certain establishements to reopen with strict safety and precaution measures.
The word reached Nissan Philippines, prompting it to give some of its dealerships the green light to open doors for the first time in two months.
According to the latest Nissan Philippines press release sent to us, “As some areas transition to the General Community Quarantine, we are happy to share that Nissan Dealerships in select areas will resume its operations, following government guidelines. The dealerships will continue to follow social distancing and disinfection protocols to ensure the continued safety of our employees, customers, and community.”
Here’s the official list of Nissan dealerships that have reopened in areas under GCQ. Note that the move has been in effect since May 4.
