Since the launch of the Jaguar F-Type in 2012, the British luxury carmaker has steadily expanded the range to include a 340hp V6 variant, as well as the fire-breathing SVR model. But for those that want a more “sedate” F-Type, Jaguar presents the Jaguar F-Type 2.0-liter four-cylinder.

Beneath the svelte body with revised 18-inch alloy wheels, a single exhaust tailpipe, and redesigned bumper throbs a 2.0-liter direct-injection turbocharged four-cylinder motor. Don’t let the small displacement and four-pot configuration fool you as this Jag is still truly, well, a Jag, so the British automaker claims. Proof of this are the 300hp, 400Nm of torque, and the 0-100kph acceleration time of just 5.4 seconds before hitting a 250kph top speed.

The Ingenium motor is mated to an 8-speed QuckShift automatic that gives the car the agility and performance befitting a feisty feline. Moreover, the new engine configuration pays off in the area of handling, with the lighter front axle translating to better overall drivability. And with some 50kg shaved off the scales, you can just imagine how satisfying it is to drive. And with an exhaust manifold mounted directly to the cylinder head and matched with a twin-scroll turbo, power is always on tap.

Inside, the new Jaguar F-Type four-cylinder likewise gets tweaked with lighter sports sets, the latest TouchPro infotainment system, and of course, a truly luxurious cabin. It still is a Jaguar, after all.
