With Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) giving its compact XE the SV Project 8 treatment, isn’t it but natural for its larger models to get some attention from its tuning arm as well? This is exactly what happened as Jaguar unveils the new XJR575.
The most powerful XJ’s 5.0-liter supercharged V8 was tweaked by the boys at SVO to bring out the most of the engine’s capaiblities. Output has been raised from an already heady 550hp to an even more potent 575hp. Torque has likewise been pegged at 700Nm. This allows the XJR575 tp sprint from rest to the century mark in just 4.4 ticks. What’s even more impressive is that it can reach its 299kph top speed in just 44 seconds.
Besides the awesome straight-line speed, this Jag is likewise a looker. It has got goodies like twin hood louvers, side sills, front bumper with large lower air intakes with gloss black surrounds, a rear spoiler, red brake calipers, and 20-inch Farallon gloss black wheels. Inside, embossed treadlates are complemented by Intaglio and diamond quilted seat upholstery, and of course, special badging inside and out..
To showcase its sporty yet refined nature, the Jaguar XJR575 was revealed via special high-speed interview with SVO Projects Director Wayne Burgess being asked a few quickfire questions by TV personality and race driver Amanda Stretton. The interview took all of 44 seconds—the time it takes for the Jaguar XJR575 to dismiss 299kph.
The Jaguar XJR575 is available in two bespoke colors—Satin Corris Grey and Velocity Blue.
