As far as Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs) go, nothing can be more exclusive than a Bentley Bentayga. The British luxury “ute”, which was unveiled sometime last year, combines the ultimate in power, luxury, go-anywhere capability and snob appeal. And now, it has finally landed on Philippine shores.

Bentley Manila has revealed what many describe as the pinnacle of luxury SUV motoring. The look alone is enough to let the world know that you’re a person of power, with that signature Bentley matrix grille flanked by quad LED headlamps. Then there are the flared wheel arches that help bring out the Bentley power line, B-shaped illumination, and the B-shaped wing. One can even choose from an array of bespoke alloy rims.

This being a Bentley, the cabin is practically the lap of comfort and one-of-a-kind luxury. Owners can specify the type of leather, wood, and other accents used. You can also spec you Bentayga to seat either four or five passengers, who will all revel in the various toys. They have stuff like the latest infotainment and climate control systems, as well as all the creature comforts you can imagine. There is even a 22-way power adjustable seat for the utmost customization.

If you think these goodies will spoil you silly, wait til you get a load of the power from the 6.0-liter twin-turbo W12 motor. Developing a rousing 600hp and 900Nm of torque, it is coursed through an eight-speed automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive. All that grunt is enough to blast the SUV from rest to a hundred kilometers per hour in a supercar-like 4.1 seconds and reach a 301kph top speed. Talk about having your cake and eating it, too.

Besides being fun yet smooth in a straight line, the Bentley Bentayga features the Dynamic Ride function that is pretty much like an electronic roll control system found on all-terrain vehicles. It allows the large SUV to be taken off the beaten path yet still remain stable and serene. It still is, after all, a Bentley.
