Car aficionados, especially Volkswagen fans, will have a lot of reason to brave the traffic and head over to the SM Mall of Asia area this weekend, as the German brand's Philippine distributor, Volkswagen Philippines, participates in two major motoring events that are slated from April 20-23, 2017.
First up is the Auto Focus Multi-Brand Summer Test Drive Festival that takes place from 11am to 9pm at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds. Here, visitors will get a chance to see and test drive models like the Volkswagen Beetle, with its 1.4-liter motor and 7-speed DSG transmission, the Polo Hatchback and Sedan with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine and 6-speed auto, and the Touran MPV that has a 2.0-liter TDI mill mated to a 6-speed DSG.
Apart from these, the all-new second-generation Volkswagen Tiguan will also be on hand for people to check out. Powered by a 1.4-liter TSI motor with a 6-speed DSG< it boasts family-friendly safety kit such as 7 SRS airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and Electronic Stabilization Program, just to name a few.
Folks who want to see a different side of VW can check out the brand at the TransSport Show that runs from 10am to 9pm at the SMX Convention Center. Here, one will get to see the iconic Beetle in all its Club Edition glory. This number adds leather seats, touchscreen infotainment system with mirrorlink, front and rear sensors, and hyper black alloy wheels. It’s meant to bring out the racy side of the little bug.
