The recently held Auto Focus Media's Choice Awards (AFMCA) 2017 saw Ford Philippines collecting a number of recognitions for some of its models. In particular, the American blue oval brand received citations in fields such as Safety Features, Engine Performance, and Design.

As an idea, the AFMCA is an annual award-giving event that has the country’s esteemed motoring journalists voting for the vehicle of their choice that deserve the best-of-the-best in a number of categories. Seen as experts in motoring, these choices would help car buyers make more educated decisions before buying a brand new car.

For this year, Ford Philippines racked 4 recognitions.

Firstly, the Ford Explorer SUV bagged the Best Safety Features for Large SUV/Crossover. This is dues to its host of safety amenities that includes dual front/side/curtain/knee airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), stability control, lane departure warning system, and ISOFIX child seat anchors, among others. In addition, the Explorer was also given the Best Design for Large SUV/Crossover recognition.

The next awardees were the Ford Ranger pickup and the Ford Mustang sports car. The former was hailed as the pickup truck with the Best Safety Features as it carries most of what the Explorer has as standard. The latter, on the other hand, clinched the Best Engine Performance for Sports Cars as under its hood resides a potent 5.8L V8 engine that delivers 435 hp and 542 Nm of torque.

“We are thankful to the organizers of the AFMCA as well as to our media partners for their continued trust and support to Ford. These citations inspire us to continuously offer vehicles with best-in- class features and capabilities as well as enhance the overall customer experience,” shared Rodel Gallega, Vice President for Marketing and Sales of Ford Philippines.
