Ford Philippines has cracked open 2018 with a stellar January sales performance. Tallying a total of 2,737 units sold, the company said that it posted a 9% increase in monthly sales as compared to the same period last year.

Helping deliver the goods is the strong demand for the American blue oval brand’s line of trucks and SUVs, headed by the Everest. Of date, the SUV was sold 994 times last month, a notable 38% increase vs. the January 2017 record.

Next in line is the EcoSport subcompact crossover which saw a monthly sales record amounting to 862 units. Then there’s the Ranger pickup truck with its January 2018 sales tally of 680 units. As for the Explorer premium SUV and the Mustang sports car, both American-made models were sold a total of 114 and 62 times, respectively last month.

Ford Philippines credits the achievement to the strong sales momentum it had in 2017. For this year, the company said that it will pick up on that momentum with beefed up customer service, dealer network, new model launches, and more programs in months to come.

Here’s to hoping that Ford Philippines would consider bringing in the Ranger Raptor, a souped up version of the regular Ranger, for those who like to work hard and play harder off the beaten path. Freshly launched in Bangkok Thailand a few days ago, the Raptor comes with a more sizable body complete with aesthetic touches that make it look extra muscular. Beneath that is a robust off-road-ready powertrain.
