Suzuki Philippines kicks 2019 off with the debut of the all-new Ertiga. Considered as one of the Japanese compact vehicle maker’s bestsellers, the 7-seat MPV made its way to the local market yesterday in a simple yet adrenaline-packed launch.
The latest Ertiga sports a larger grille and new headlamps up front. The side profile has lines and creases, while the rear gets bolder-looking taillights and a new tailgate design. Overall, it’s more appealing and exudes a sense of style.
This being a family hauler, the cabin gets a more upscale look, as well as more room courtesy of the larger exterior dimensions. The flat-bottom steering wheel, revised aircon vents and controls, and faux wood complemented by beiege interior all make for a nice place to be in on long journeys. The centerpiece of all this is a touchscreen infotainment system for the top-spec model. Measuring 10 inches, it has a wealth of connectivity options to keep occupants connected while on the go.
At the heart of the new Ertiga is a 1.5-liter four-cylinder that produces 103hp and 138Nm of torque. Now riding on the Heartect platform shared with the Swift and Dzire, the new engine is paired with either 5-speed manual or 4-speed auto gearbox.
The safety gear on this one includes dual SRS airbags, ABS with EBD, side door beams, an immobilizer, and reverse camera with parking sensors.
