Alright! We’re starting off with a little bit of a trip down memory lane here, since this pandemic has pretty much kept most of us stuck indoors. Long ago, but not so very long ago, physical car launch events are a thing.

I remember when car brand PR and Marketing workforces here in the Philippines would pull out some magical hat-tricks in order to fire up an extravagant event in stunning locations, with all the glitz and glamour, worthy of a grandstand show, all for unveiling a brand new car in style. And one of the car brands that have become good at this is Nissan Philippines, Inc. (NPI).

You see, back in 2018, the Japanese carmaker invited a group of media people up north at the Clark Global City in Pampanga. The agenda was to launch its challenger in the hotly-contested midsize 7-seat SUV market, in the form of the Nissan Terra! And what an event that was! I wasn’t there to physically witness it, but from the experiences of my teammates, NPI made sure to have the Terra come out of the sandy veil, looking like an off-road warrior, out to dominate the competition.

Well, I guess I’ve made this nostalgic ride a little too long for you at this point. Sorry, just got carried away. But to make it up to you, I have this great news to share. Even at this time of pandemic craziness, NPI still pulled through with the recent virtual unveiling of the new Nissan Terra! Boasting a refreshed styling and kitted with more tech goodies, the new Terra is projected to keep things hot in its class.

Familiar masculine exterior with a twist

Immediately noticeable on the new Terra is its front end. The “V-Motion grille” of the new Terra was updated to look more upsized, with a hefty amount of added chrome for that elegant touch. This is complemented by the unique C-shaped signature LED daytime running lights and the restyled quad LED projector headlights which now feature a more muscular look. The grille and these lighting fixtures are cradled by a redesigned bumper, thus providing a fresh new take on the fascia.

In profile, the new Nissan Terra features a set of redesigned two-tone alloy wheels that further highlight its powerful stance. Meanwhile, the back end gets completely redesigned, starting off with a new spoiler and shark-fin antenna, a set of LED tail lights, added chrome touches, and a new look bumper to round it all in.

An inviting interior with new gismos to enjoy

Of course, it’s not just the exterior that gets all the attention. For Nissan, it’s just as important that everyone gets to enjoy an upscale, premium experience each and every time they set out on a journey with the new Terra. For this to be achieved, Nissan made it a point to improve the interior design, materials, fit and finish, and provide the occupants an assortment of goodies to make the ride all the more fun and exciting.

For instance, the steering wheel gets a new D-shaped look to it. The dashboard also boasts a new look, as is the center console. It’s got integrated wireless charging, electronic parking brake, and a new high contrast 7-inch Advanced Drive Assist Display. Moreover, everyone is greeted with an improved head unit, that which comes kitted with 9-inch Advanced Touchscreen Display Audio with Android Auto and Wireless Apple Carplay interchange, an 11-inch Flip-down Rear Monitor, and an 8-speaker BOSE Premium Sound System (for the VL 4x4 variant) for a more spirited musical journey.

The already intelligent has become more intelligent with added NIM features

The new Nissan Terra is packed with more Nissan Intelligent Mobility features, enhancing overall driving safety and confidence for drivers and their loved ones.

As the best and most high-tech in its class, the new Nissan Terra now comes with Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Intelligent Emergency Braking, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, while carrying over the Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning, and Intelligent Rear View Mirror features from the previous model. The Intelligent Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection now comes with an Off-road Monitor for the VL 4x4 variant. The new Terra also comes with the segment-first Intelligent Driver Alertness that senses cues from the driver and gives alerts to the driver if a break from the wheel is needed.

The suite of these NIM features combine into the 360 Safety Shield, a 360-degree safety system which helps protect both the driver and passengers from potential risks approaching the vehicle.

Your opportunity to choose your new Nissan Terra that fits you best

So, with all these specs out of the bag, let’s talk variants and pricing. For the new Terra, NPI offers four variants to choose from. Starting off with the EL 4x2 MT which stickers at P1,649,000, you can also move up a notch to the VE 4x2 AT which sells for P1,829,000.

Or, you could opt for the VL 4x2 AT, which you can drive home for P1,999,000. However, to those looking to experience the full capabilities and enjoy the full array of goodies the new Nissan Terra has in store, there’s the range-topping VL 4x4 AT which is priced at P2,339,000.

The new Nissan Terra will be available in six exterior colors: Nebula Metallic Red, Forged Metallic Copper, Aspen Pearl White, Lunar Metallic Gray, Brilliant Silver, and Galaxy Black. These high-class exterior colors are matched with a premium two-tone, black with burgundy interior leather trim for the VL variants and black interior colors for the VE and EL variants, enhancing the vehicle's polished look.

It also comes with a vehicle warranty of five years or 150,000 kilometers, whichever comes first. Similar to the Nissan Navara, the warranty of the new Nissan Terra is the first in its segment, offering customers a hassle-free ownership experience.
