A recent survey conducted by Volvo shows that around 70% of clients want their car to be refueled at the press of a button, 56% wish their car could be picked up and serviced for them, while 49% desire for their vehicle to be moved to another location while they are at work. Sound like wishful thinking?
Volvo doesn’t think so, as it is set to roll out a Pilot Program in San Francisco called the Volvo Concierge. The name alone gives a hint of what type of service the Swedish car company will provide—a wealth benefits to make car ownership as stress-free as possible.
At the press of a button using a dedicated smartphone app, the Volvo XC90 or S90 owner can have his or her vehicle picked up for service, refueling, cleaned at a car wash, or moved to a specific location of their choice. To make things safe, the Volvo Concierge driver will use a one-time digital key that will expire once the service has been completed. At the end of the day, for instance, the vehicle will be back at the owner’s parking slot or specified location, clean, topped-up, and as good as new.
