The year 2016 witnessed SsangYong’s return to the Philippine market. The Korean carmaker came back from a brief hiatus with a stronger and more robust vehicle lineup, as well as a renewed commitment to after-sales service. All this has paid off as SsangYong reports rousing sales growth for the year 2017.
Through the efforts of Philippine distributor SsangYong Berjaya Motor Philippines, SsangYong reported a 140% increase in sales last year. The charge was led by the hot selling SsangYong Tivoli, which accounted for 43% of total sales. This was followed by its larger variant, the SsangYong Tivoli XLV.
Next in the lineup of bestsellers is the SsangYong Rodius. The seven, nine, and eleven set variants made up 20% of total vehicle sales. In line with this, the Korean automaker also announced that the Rodius was awarded as the most fuel efficient diesel powered vehicle in the country. The MPV was able to eke out 33.12km/L during the Department of Energy’s fuel economy run. Rounding out the list of sellers for 2017 is the SsangYong Korando.
With such growth, SsangYong looks forward to breaking more records this year.
