For Porsche aficionados, the GTS badge equates for style, performance, and a bit of comfort. Now, Porsche adds the three-letter moniker to the latest iteration of its legendary 911 lineup as it unveils the rear-wheel drive 911 Carrera GTS in coupe and convertible, the all-wheel drive 911 Carrera 4 GTS, also in coupe and convertible, and the 911 Targa 4 GTS.

You can tell the GTS from the rest of the lineup thanks to the Sport Design front end, front and rear spoiler extensions, silk black air intakes, black central tailpipes, and smoked tail lights. Those that go for the Targa will get goodies like ebony strip between the taillights, sport design mirrors, GTS logos, and 20-inch alloy wheels. That signature Targa bar is also painted in black for the very first time on the GTS line.

At  the heart of all this is the 3.0-liter turbocharged flat-six that puts out 450hp and 550Nm of torque. With around 30hp more than the Carrera S, this motor is paired with either a seven-speed manual or Porsche’s PDK dual-clutch gearbox. Torque is available over a wide-spread, from 2,150 all the way to 5,000rpm, giving the car acceleration times of 3.6 seconds for the 911 Carrera 4 GTS with PDK and Sport Chrono Package. As for top speed, the fastest of the lot is the Carrera GTS with manual tranny, clocked at 312km/h.

To further boost performance, Porsche offers the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), which lowers the ride height by around 10mm. Then there is the Stopwatch, which is integrated into the Sport Chrono Package. Together with the new Track Precision app, drivers can record analyze, and get detailed info on their track and performance times all on their smart phone.

The new Porsche 911 GTS lineup will be on sale beginning in March. They may only be three letters, but they make a world of difference.
