Future Hyundai and Kia vehicles will have really clean air inside the cabin

Automotive air purification systems are nothing new. Most high-end cars have been utilizing them since the early 2000s. Yet one thing about these systems is that they only operate for a limited time. Once the air is clean inside the cabin, that’s it.

Hyundai Motor Group, however, takes things a step further by developing a Smart Air Purification System that monitors and purifies the vehicle interior quality in real time. This essentially means it can detect whether the air inside your vehicle is Poor, Fair, or Excellent, and cleans accordingly. The goal here is to achieve an Excellent rating.

Not only does the Smart Air Purification System ensure you and your passengers breathe nothing but clean air, it can even remove the most minute and fine particles trapped inside the vehicle. And your vehicle need not be running for it to do so. You and your fellow occupants can monitor ts progress via a display on the Audio-Video Navigation screen where a 16-bar graphic will show air quality and cleaning progress in real time.

Expect to see the Smart Air Purification System in future Hyundai and Kia vehicles.
