While it doesn’t exactly sell in record numbers, cars like the BRZ give the Subaru faithful and fellow car enthusiasts a reason to flock to Motor Image showrooms. Imagine a relatively affordable sports car that can run with the best of them—they that usually cost twice or even thrice its pricetag.

Now, Subaru freshens up the BRZ and gives it a host of goodies to keep things interesting. Take for instance the new headlamps with daytime running lights that not only give the car added visual flair but likewise aid nighttime driving. These are enhanced by new LED foglamps with inner reflective surfaces that likewise help during those dark nights on the road.

Other visual cues to help distinguish the old from the new are the double fin garnish that help improve airflow, as well as the 17-inch 10-spoke alloy rims that give the car even more road presence. At the rear, a new spoiler enhances aerodynamics while twin tailpipes hint at this car’s sporty nature.

Stepping inside, the leather and Alcantara seat upholstery provide a more premium feel. Track Mode, meanwhile, gives drivers even more customization options to play with. Paddle shifters for automatic tranny-equipped models provide more control. And even if this is a sports car, the two-plus-two seating with foldable rear seats means added versatility.

Still powered by the vaunted 2.0-liter four-cylinder boxer mill that puts out 205hp, the Subaru BRZ remains one of the most affordable sports cars out there. At P2,058,000 for the updated model, one gets a car with nimble handling and excellent driving dynamics. And the car can even be used for the daily commute with hardly any compromises.
