At the exact stroke of noon, a congratulations message to the winner (Raffy Cureg) was posted, only to be beaten by a 42k bid from Ryan Cruz, which came in just above the congratulatory message and literally less than half a second before the deadline, making him the winner by a short hair.
The bid rose to 43k, but it was already a minute too late.
The 36-hour auction garnered over 200 comments and 380 shares, and was even picked up and published on the Philippine Daily Inquirer’s website, prompting several anonymous donors to throw in a combined extra 25,000 pesos to add to the final bid of 42,000 pesos, bringing the total to 67,000 pesos, and getting one step closer to getting Camille her leg.
When asked for a statement, Bonnevie Cattery simply said “It was a great feline to help.”
