A few things a responsible rider always keeps in mind

Regular commuters and motorists may have noticed that there are a seemingly large number of motorcycles on the road these days. A practical choice, mind you, as traffic congestion has gone from bad to really bad. Yet being able to weave in and out of stationary vehicles in gridlock is no excuse to to neglect safety.

As a responsible rider, one must remember that getting ahead isn’t always the most important thing. Safety and good road manners must always come first. As a rider, one must always keep in mind the following:

  • Be alert: Don’t just kep your eyes open but also keep those ears peeled for possible road hazards. This can come in the form of a truck, bus, or another rider that could come out of nowhere.
  • Familiarize yourself with traffic rules: Overtaking on the right side does not a responsible rider make. In other words, always follow the road signs and traffic rules. And be mindful of other road users.
  • Give your bike a thorough once over before heading out. Even if you’re just going for a casual ride to the mall, always make sure that your tires, engine oil, brakes, chain, and the engine are in good working order and won’t be a menace to you or other road users. Again, it’s all about safety.
  • Wear the proper gear: Using bright colored gear is ideal to allow others to see you better, especially at night. Plus, wear protective clothing that will keep you safe from the elements.

Just a friendly remindr:  Riding a motorbike has become a practical choice these days. Don’t ruin it by acting and riding irresponsibly.
