In today’s gadget-crazy world, sending a text message is not enough. Users demand a bit more “emotion” in what they wish to convey. Hence, the creation of the emoji, which itself has spawned thousands of different types of visual icons representing a whole spectrum of everyday objects. .
Within the realm of these icons, vehicle enthusiasts have a slew of choices, from cars, boats, even ski lifts. All of these designed to get the message across in a fun manner. Yet somehow, something was missing—the erstwhile pickup truck. Yes, the vehicle used by tradespeople and lifestyle-oriented folks alike was not included. Yet. Now, however, all this may change as Ford submitted a proposal for a pickup truck emoji to the Uncode Consortium.
The organization that approves all these little icons for inclusion on different mobile device keyboards and platforms received the Blue Oval brand’s proposal last 2018. If all goes well, we may soon see a pickup truck emoji as early as 2020. This is great news for pickup truck lovers out there that want to express themselves in a fun way while using their mobile devices.
