To say that we live in a connected world is definitely an understatement nowadays. Even as most of us venture outdoors, we still can’t seem to leave home without our smartphones. The excuse most folks will give is that it will help give navigation data, among other things.

Whatever the case may be, Land Rover is about to unveil a new smartphone that will be as adventurous as the people who drive their vehicles. And it will likewise be as tough as their four-wheeled offerings. Meet the Land Rover Explore, which will be unveiled at the 2018 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona

Inspired by the Land Rover Discovery, the Explore boasts of a 5-inch HD display that stays bright even under intense sunlight. Its 4000mAh battery can go for two full days of normal use, even with GPS navigation constantly running in the background. Plus, it has been drop-tested up to 1.8m and can survive even under harsh salt water.

Land Rover says that its smartphone will be at home both at the office and on the biking, diving, and hiking trails. Thanks to an optional Adventure Pack, battery life can be increased along with an even more accurate GPS navigation system. And you can even spec it with a more durable and powerful 4370mAh battery.

This Android-based smartphone shows its adventurous side with its customizable home screen that gives instant access to weather and other pertinent data—useful for those on the go. And Land Rover says that it is easy to operate, even with gloves on.

The Land Rover Explore will be available to order beginning 26 April 2018.
