The Nissan LEAF is already considered one of the most cutting-edge fully electric vehicles today. Throw in a few NISMO tweaks and you’ve got a number that provides guilt-free performance for its owner. Now, Nissan and its motorsport division, Nissan Motorsport (NISMO) take things up a notch with the new Nissan LEAF NISMO RC.

No, the RC does not stand for Remote Control (as in the toy from our childhood). Rather, it connotes that this is a fully electric race car. You can tell ths right off the bat from the eye-catching styling with an even more aggressive appearance.

Apart from this, NISMO endows this one with two electric motors, one for each axle. They combine to produce 328hp and 640 of pure electric torque. This is then fed to all four wheels by an innovative all-wheel drive system. All told, the fully electric number with a carbon fiber racing monocoque chassis does the 0-100kph dash in just 3.4 seconds.

These lightning-quick numbers are double the power and acceleration provided by the previous LEAF RC, whch saw daylight in 2011.

Nissan plans to build 6 LEAF NISMO RC  electric race cars that will be deployed around the world. This will give racing fans and car enthusiasts more chances to get up close to this awesome machine.
